Spherical Guided Transverse Bearings are similar in function to the longitudinal type, but they allow horizontal movement only in the transverse direction. These bearings consist of a spherical rotation mechanism and a guided sliding surface for controlled transverse motion. This design is suitable for curved or skewed bridges where transverse expansion or alignment correction is necessary.
